This past Friday evening, November 12th, Cuban authorities withdrew the press credentials of the Spanish news agency EFE’s team on the island, effectively banning them from doing journalistic work. This has drawn extensive international media coverage and a strong reaction from the Spanish and U.S. government as well as from organizations that defend freedom of the press.
